Due to the departure of Chairman Hugh Stump, the Etowah County Mega Sports Complex Authority board unanimously elected Randy Vice as Chairman. Vice is a Rainbow City Councilman, a History, Government, and Economics Teacher at Southside High and the school’s boys head soccer coach. He has served on the ECMSCA Board for over two years and currently serves as the appointee of the Rainbow City Council.

“I would like to thank Hugh Stump and Ralph Burke who served as previous board chairmen, and I’m excited to continue moving this complex forward. We have an amazing facility and a hard-working board of directors and are excited about its future. We have several events planned over the next several months and are optimistic about the impact these events will have on Etowah County. I also look forward to solidifying our relationship with our municipal partners, Rainbow City and all of Etowah County.”

Vie added that the Etowah County Mega Sports Complex Authority was created by former state representative and current Mayor of Gadsden, Craig Ford. Rainbow City Mayor Joe Taylor and the Rainbow City Council have played an integral part in the completion of the project. Current ECMSCA d board members include Vice, Dennis Davis, Misty Ledbetter, Hugh Miller, Roger Boatner and Chris Russell.
