Victoria Cleveland selected as Miss Gadsden State 2014

Victoria Cleveland of Gadsden was crowned the new Miss Gadsden State Community College 2014. 

Cleveland, the daughter of Gene and Allison Cleveland, is a freshman, majoring in cosmetology.

She received a two-semester scholarship to Gadsden State, a cash scholarship of $200 and numerous other prizes. 

She was crowned by Suzanne Bruton, Miss Gadsden State Community College 2013.

Erin Wagnon was the recipient of the lifestyle and fitness award, the talent competition, and first alternate for which she received cash scholarships totaling $300.   

Cleveland will represent Gadsden State in the Miss Alabama Pageant in June held at Samford University. 

Her other duties will include representing the college at recruiting functions, campus activities, and community events.     

Carrying out the theme of “A Tribute to Song Writers” the contestants entertained the audience with several production numbers along with performances by the Gadsden State Southern Belles and Ensemble. 

The musical numbers were under the direction of J.T. Harrell and choreographed by Kay Smith-Foster.

Eight Gadsden State students competed for the title.

Each contestant is required to have a service platform which supports a community charity or organization. 

The contestants volunteered a combined total of 2,183 service hours promoting their platforms and raised $945 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
