YMCA offers New Year’s workout and deals

The YMCA of Coosa Valley is determined to help everyone in Etowah County fulfill their New Year’s resolutions this year. 

The most popular resolution is always getting in shape. Well, the YMCA can help with that. The YMCA offers many fun classes. The January fitness schedule has been released. 

On Mondays, there is an 8:05 a.m. spin class, an 8:05 a.m. glutes, guns and guts workout, a 9 a.m. water workout, a 9:15 a.m. yoga class, a 10 a.m. joint ventures class, an 11 a.m. lunch H2O class, a 12:10 p.m. body blast workout, a 5:15 p.m. yoga class, a 5:30 p.m. spin class, a 6:15 p.m. Zumba class and a 7:15 p.m. abs workout. 

On Tuesdays, there is an 8:05 a.m. spin class, an 8:05 a.m. PUMP class, a 9 a.m. Pilates fusion class, a 9 a.m. deep water volleyball  class, a 10:30 a.m. Silver Sneakers Classic class, a 12:10 p.m. body blast workout, a 5:15 p.m. abs and arms workout, a 5:35 p.m. water aerobics class, a 6 p.m. Zumba class, a 6:30 p.m. MTB team spin class and a 7:30 p.m. combat fitness class. 

On Wednesdays, there is an 8:05 a.m. Zumba class, a 9 a.m. water workout, a 9:15 a.m. yoga class, a 9:15 a.m. yoga class, a 10 a.m. joint ventures class, an 11 a.m. lunch H2O class, a 12:10 p.m. barre workout, a 4:30 p.m. PUMP class, a 5:30 p.m. yoga class, a 6:30 p.m. Zumba class and a 7:15 p.m. strength training class. 

On Thursdays, there is an 8:05 a.m. cardio mix workout, an 8:30 a.m. butts and guts workout, a 9:15 a.m. body sculpt workout, a 10 a.m. deep water volleyball class, a 10:30 a.m. Silver Sneakers Classic class, a 12:10 p.m. body blast workout, a 5:30 p.m. YCROSS class, a 5:30 p.m.  Spin class, a 6:30 p.m. Zumba class, a 6:30 p.m. MTB team spin and a 7:30 p.m. combat fitness class.

On Fridays, there is an 8:05 a.m. spin class, an 8:05 a.m. Zumba Gold class, a 9 a.m. water workout, a 9:15 a.m. yoga class, a 10 a.m. joint ventures class, an 11 a.m. lunch H2O class, a 12:10 p.m. PUMP class.

On Saturdays, there is an 8:15 a.m.  Aqua Zumba class (the class will not be held on January 9 and 30) and a 9:30 a.m. Zumba class.

The YMCA is also teaming up with the Humane Society to get your pet in shape with Mutts and Butts on January 9 at 9 a.m. The group will meet at the Bird Sanctuary behind the Gadsden Mall.

With so many options, it can be hard to figure out which class you would like. So come join  the YMCA for a resolution workout on January 2 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The workout will consist of 15 to 20 minute classes of Zumba, barre, spin, yoga, Pilates and PUMP.

Guests are welcome; just come in a little early and sign in at the front desk. Child care will also be available. 

The YMCA is also trying to help you with  financial resolutions by offering deals for signing up in January. The January join fee starts at $2 on Jan. 2, and increases a dollar a day until Jan. 25 when the fee will remain at $25 for the remainder of the month. 

On Jan. 2 through Jan. 9, a one-year membership is 20 percent off. On Jan. 10 through Jan. 16, a one year membership is 15 percent off. On Jan. 17 through Jan. 23, a one year membership is 10 percent off. On Jan. 24 through Jan. 31, a one year membership is 5 percent off. A join fee is charged with the membership.
