The Hollar family has been in Gadsden’s gasoline industry for 40 years.

Don Hollar worked his way through the University of Houston by operating a Shell. After graduating, the company offered him a
position. He worked with the company for 22 years. In 1976, the Bellinger Oil Company became available, and he jumped on the chance to purchase it. His son Wayne and grandchildren Wes and Zac worked withhim, bringing three generations of Hollars into the family business. Unfortunately, Don passed away in June of last year.

Recently The Hollar Company was awarded a 40 Years of Valued Service from Shell Oil.

The Hollar family has supported many community projects. Wayne Hollar has served as president of the Lions Club, Industrial Development Authority, the Chamber, and the Gadsden Commercial Development Authority. He is the only three-time president of the Petroleum and Convenience Marketers of Alabama.

The Hollar family also makes regular contributions to the United Way, the Humane Society of Etowah County and the Gadsden Cultural Arts Foundation.

“Because of the long term support of the Gadsden Cultural Arts Foundation by Wayne and Paula Hollar, we are able to continue to
provide an improved quality of life to all in our community,” said Bobby Welch, Executive Director of the Gadsden Cultural Arts
Foundation.  “When it comes to community citizenship, they are the best.”
