Southside runner sets school 5K record

Southside High’s Evan Christopher finished seventh out of 329 runners with a school-record time of 15:45.47 in the boys large school division of the Chickasaw Trails Invitational 5K on Saturday, Sept. 8 in Oakville. 2023 SHS graduate Jackson Griggs held the previous 5K record. Also placing in the top 100 for the Panthers was Max Valentine, whose time of 17:19.46 was good for 86th place. Pacing the Southside girls was Marlee Tucker, who came in 112th (22:35.78) out of 279 competitors.
