The 2024 First Friday season kicks off April 5. The first First Friday of the season will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Broad Street in Gadsden.

In usual First Friday fashion, there will be classic cars, live music and food vendors.

Broad Street will close to traffic about 4:15 p.m. for food vendors to set up and for classic cars to park.

Downtown retail shops and restaurants will stay open late to welcome attendees, as will the Gadsden Museum of Art and the Mary G. Hardin Cultural Arts Center.

Entertainment will include Gadsden State Community College’s Show Band at 4th and Broad, Cigar Box Band at 5th and Broad (along with a display of cigar box guitars), and Gadsden Denim and Lace line dancers in the 600 block.

“We know how excited people are for the start of First Friday,” said Kay Moore, DGI director. “We’re starting off the season with three great musical acts, several food vendors and the crowd favorite — classic cars. There will be something for the entire family to enjoy.”

The guidelines for First Friday include no pets, no personal coolers or glass containers, no skateboards or roller blades and no advertising or fundraising.
