Loss to Alexandria ends Etowah’s 14-year playoff streak

Etowah was eliminated from the postseason after a 42-32 loss to Alexandria on Friday, Oct. 25.
It was the first time the Blue Devils (3-6, 3-4) failed to make the state playoffs since the 2009 season.
For Etowah against Alexandria, Jameson Scissum (pictured above at left) was 19 for 33 in passing for 345 yards and four touchdowns. He also gained 68 rushing yards on 15 carries.
Lamont Richardson had five receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown and returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown, Zayden Knight caught five passes for 81 yards, Cash Hayes had four receptions for 113 yards and two touchdowns and Bennett Reeves caught three passes for 85 yards and a touchdown.
Antonio Garza had an interception.
Etowah closes out the season on Friday, Nov. 1 at Lincoln.
