Hokes Bluff finished with 10 hits in a 15-1 victory over Collinsville last Thursday (April 14). Gracie Blair, Abby Payne, and Kileigh Blackwell all had multiple hits for the Lady Eagles. Blackwell earned the win on the mound, allowing four hits, one run and one walk while striking out seven in seven innings.

Juli Mostillo’s grand slam highlighted Ashville’s 12-2 victory in five innings over Gadsden City last Thursday (April 14) at AHS. Also for the Lady Bulldogs, Whitney Goodwin had a two-RBI double, Lexi St. John had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored; and Anna Lynn Williamson and Ansley Brashier each had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Hokes Bluff improved to 4-1 in area play with a 15-0 win over Geraldine last Tuesday (April 12). In three innings, winning pitcher Kileigh Blackwell allowed no hits while striking out four. At the plate for the Lady Eagles, Bailee Latronico went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI and two runs scored; Abby Payne went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored; Makenna Bennich went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI; Rosie Garrett went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and a run scored; Halle Davenport had a home run, two RBI and three runs scored; and Hayden Wolfe had a double and three runs scored.

Glencoe fell to Collinsville, 11-9 last Tuesday (April 12. For the Lady Yellow Jackets, Kaylee Higdon went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a run scored; Aubrey Maxwell went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored; Hailey Hanners went 2-for-4 with a double, and RBI and two runs scored; and Kinslee Gray went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Etowah defeated Ashville, 11-2, in Class 4A, Area 12 action last Tuesday (April 12) in Attalla. For the Lady Blue Devils, Lauren Farmer went 2-for-2 with a triple, three RBI and a run scored; Jaleigh Devine went 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored; Emma Johnson went 2-for-3 with two runs scored; and Abbi Martin had a hit, two RBI and a run scored. Winning pitcher Kylee Wilder went the distance, scattering seven hits and two runs while striking out three. She did not walk a batter. Rachel St. John had a pair of hits for the Lady Bulldogs, while Juli Mostillo had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Gadsden City defeated Gaston, 13-3, in six innings last Tuesday (April 12). For the Lady Titans, B Gray went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored. Chloe Pence-Brown went 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Lady Bulldogs.

Summer Crump pitched a complete game three-hitter in Glencoe’s 4-2 victory over West End on Monday, April 11 in Walnut Grove. In seven innings, Crump allowed no earned runs and one walk while striking out eight. At the plate for the Lady Yellow Jackets, Casey Willett had a home run, and RBI and a run scored; Abi Bunt had a hit and two RBI; and Crump and Jaxson Sizemore each had a hit and a run scored. For the Lady Patriots, Braylee King had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, while Karlee Tarpley had a hit and an RBI.

Hokes Bluff went 2-2 at the Gadsden Umpires Tournament this past weekend in Boaz.
After opening the tournament on Friday, April 8 with a 7-4 loss to Class 1A No. 3 Skyline, the Lady Eagles rebounded with a 7-3 victory over Brindlee Mountain. On Saturday, April 9, Hokes Bluff fell to Scottsboro, 8-0 before posting a 12-0 shutout over Ashville.
Against Skyline for the Lady Eagles, Bailee Latronico and Hayden Wolfe each had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.
Against Brindlee Mountain, Kileigh Blackwell went 2-for-2 with three RBI and a run scored, while Halle Davenport went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Winning pitcher Peyton Ward allowed three hits, three runs and two walks with two strikeouts in four innings. Wolfe, Davenport and Makenna Bennich each had a hit against Scottsboro.
Blackwell (three innings) and Ward (one inning) combined for a no-hitter over Ashville, with Blackwell striking out three and Ward fanning two. At the plate, Abby Payne had a home run, two RBI and three runs scored; Benniech went 2-for-3 with a double, four RBI and a run scored; Hayden Wolfe went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored; and Latronico went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
