Trace Thompson threw five touchdowns in Etowah’s 44-0 win over Class 4A, Area 6 rival Hanceville on October 8 in Attalla.
Thompson (pictured above), who was 18 for 22 in passing for 237 yards, connected with Omareon Finch, for a pair of scoring passes and Michael Bostick, Steven Jones and Josh Hendrix for one each. Finch had three receptions for 62 yards, while Jarvis Hardwick caught three passes for 31 yards and Bostick three for 32.
The Blue Devils (4-3, 4-1) travel to Lipscomb (Tenn.) Academy this Friday (Oct. 15).

Coosa Christian defeated Valley Head, 21-14, in Class 1A, Region 7 action on October. 8. For the Conquerors, John David Justus was 5 for 12 in passing for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Thomas Skaggs completed 4 of 12 passes for 81 yards and a TD. D.J. Smith had five receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown. Trey Woods caught three passes for 100 yards and two scores. Jy Mostella rushed for 87 yards on 21 carries, while Smith ran for 59 yards on eight attempts.

Coosa (4-3, 3-1) continues region action this Friday (Oct. 15) at Sumiton Christian.
