Bulldogs, Patriots, Panthers, Blue Devils, Yellow Jackets, Lions come up short

Gaston lost to Woodland, 22-7 in a non-region game on Friday, Sept. 13 at Gaston.
For the Bulldogs (1-2, 0-1), Chapman Clay was 9 for 23 in passing for 162 yards, Devon Green had five receptions for 90 yards and Noah Cohen rushed for 41 yards on four carries.
Gaston resumes its Class 2A Region 6 schedule on Friday, Sept. 20 at home against North Sand Mountain.

West End came up short to Susan Moore, 37-6, in Class 2A Region 6 action on Friday, Sept. 13 ion Blountsville.
The Patriots’ lone score was Jaxon Hamby’s 3-yard touchdown run at 7:35 of the third quarter.
Hamby was 7 for 20 in passing for 55 yards. Jackson Mayo caught five passes for 48 yards, while Dalton Fulmer rushed for 34 yards on 10 attempts. Tyler Holland recovered a fumble on defense.
West End visits region rival Cleveland on Friday, Sept. 20,

Fort Payne edged Southside, 14-13, in a Class 6A Region 8 game on Friday, Sept. 13 at Barney Hood Stadium. The Panthers (1-3, 1-1) finished with 352 total yards, including 258 yards rushing. Jamel Boyd ran for 215 yards on 26 attempts, while Brayden Bowers carried three times for 41 yards and a touchdown.
Koal Garrett had one reception for 71 yards.
Cooper Yancey kicked field goals of 42 and 40 yards and had a 70-yard punt.
Southside has an open date this week before hosting Etowah on Sept. 27 in a region game.

Sardis fell to Guntersville, 64-0, in Class 5A Region 8 action on Friday, Sept. 13 in Sardis City. The Lions (1-3, 0-2) continue region play on Friday. Sept. 20 at Scottsboro.

Glencoe lost to Class 3A Region 6 Walter Wellborn, 28-9, on Friday, Sept. 13 in Anniston. The Yellow Jackets (1-3, 0-3) have an open date this week before visiting region rival and Etowah County neighbor Hokes Bluff on Sept. 27.

Etowah felerokee County, 42-0, in Class 4A Region 6 action on Friday, Sept. 13 in Centre. The Blue Devils (0-3, 0-2) host Ashville on Friday, Sept. 13 in region play.
