Coosa Christian captain goes to West Point

    Coosa Christian High School senior Canaan Mills recently received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point.
    Mills played football and baseball for four years at Coosa, and served as team captain in both sports his senior year.
    Mills is class valedictorian and vice-president. He also serves as Beta Club president and Key Club vice-president.
    Mills is an active member of Crosspoint Community Church and the United Student Ministries.
    Mills plans to major in engineering at West Point, and will be commissioned Second Lieutenant upon graduation.
    Mills received scholarships to Auburn University, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Texas A&M University and Jacksonville State University.
