Grizzard’s eight TD’s sparks Conquerors to first win of season

Coosa Christian rode the stellar play of Johnny Grizzard to notch its first win of the season on Friday at Woodville. 

The senior quarterback scored seven touchdowns as the Conquerors defeated the Panthers, 60-28 in Class 1A, Region 7 action.

Grizzard completed 15 of 23 passes for 364 yards and six touchdowns, rushed eight times for 63 yards and another score and returned an interception on defense 85 yards for a touchdown.

Jace Mills caught seven passes for 117 yards and three touchdowns, while Wesley Grizzard had four receptions for 147 yards and two touchdowns.

Randy Washington rushed 20 times for 123 yards and a touchdown.

The Conquerors (1-3, 1-2) host West End next week in a non – region game.
