Eighth grader Leah Lewis scored four goals and Madison Ashley and Camryn Davis added one each in Southside’s 6-1 victory over Springville in the Class 6A girls soccer quarterfinals on May 6.
The win sent the Lady Panthers (18-3-2) to the Final Four for the sixth straight season, not counting the 2020 season that was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kinsey Carter (pictured above at center) distributed two assists against Springville, while Lewis, Davis, Alana Morton and Mallory Tucker each had one. Anna Kate Welch had eight saves in goal.
Southside faces Homewood in the state semifinals on Friday, May 13 at 9 a.m. at John Hunt Park in Huntsville. The Lady Patriots defeated Southside in last year’s semifinal round.
If they beat Homewood, the Lady Panthers will compete in the championship match on Saturday, May 14 at 12 p.m. against either Northridge or St. Paul’s Episcopal.
