Eagles, Lions, Jackets, Bulldogs come up short

Hokes Bluff lost Ohatchee, 21-7, in Class 3A, Region 6 action on October 7.
The Eagles’ lone score came with a little over three minutes left in the game on Bryce Whitaker’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Alex Carter and Leon Chen’s PAT.
For Hokes Bluff. Conner Masters was 8 for 13 in passing for 57 yards. Cole Stone had five receptions for 36 yards, while Jaylen Simmons (pictured above at left) and Anderson Morgan each had two catches.
Noah Sprayberry rushed for 34 yards on 13 carries.
Layton Horne finished with 11 tackles, followed by Dakota Holcomb (pictured above at right) with seven, Simmons with six and Morgan with five. Morgan also had an interception.
Hokes Bluff (4-3, 3-2) travels to Sylvania this Friday (Oct. 7).

Sardis fell to 3-4 overall and 1-3 in Class 5A, Region 7 following a 25-0 loss to Douglas on October 7. The Lions host region rival Boaz this Friday (Oct. 14).

Glencoe fell to Piedmont, 45-10, in a Class 3A, Region 6 game on October 7. The Yellow Jackets (2-5, 0-5) host Ohatchee this Friday (Oct. 14) for more region action.

Gaston lost to Class 2A Region 6 rival Cleveland, 36-6, on October 7. The Bulldogs (2-5, 1-3) visit region rival Locust Fork this Friday (Oct. 14).

Ashville fell to Goode Hope, 20-7, in Class 4A, Region 6 action on October 7. The Bulldogs (2-5, 1-3) visit region opponent Oneonta this Friday (Oct. 14).
