Area football players named to North All-Star team

A pair of local high school seniors will participate in the 56th AHSAA North-South All-Star Football Game on July 17 in Montgomery.

Gadsden City’s Gabe Ford and Glencoe’s Thomas Ozmint were selected as running backs for the North roster.

Ford ran for 1,164 yards and 11 touchdowns this past season while helping the Titans post a 10-3 record, win the Class 7A, Region 4 championship and make to semifinal round of the Class 7A state playoffs.

Ozmint finished with 2,737 all-purpose yards and 29 touchdowns while helping the 2014 Yellow Jackets finish with a 13-1 record, post the school’s first undefeated regular season since 1979, win the Class 3A, Region 7 title and gain the program’s first berth in the state se-mifinals since the 1996 season.
