2017 Gadsden City High School graduate David Minton recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from Birmingham Southern College with a major in Computer Science/Mathematics. Minton was the team captain of the school’s 2019 NCAA College World Series National Championship finalist baseball team. He made the Southern Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll, was a member of the Dean’s List for eight semesters and was a member of Kappa Mu Epsilon Math Honor Society and National Society of Leadership and Success.

Minton has been working with the 2022 World Games that are scheduled to be held in Birmingham in 2022 as well as 2B Solutions Web development and design and as a BSC Computer Science tutor. Following the conclusion of the baseball season, Minton will work as a software engineer with Trideum Corporation aerospace company at Research Park in Huntsville.

Minton is the son of Dr. Maury and Amy Minton and the brother of Laura Minton, who is attending the UAB School of Medicine). Minton is a member of Meadowbrook Church in Gadsden.
