Patriots, Eagles come up short

Section built a 21-0 halftime advantage and went on for a 28-6 Class 2A, Region 7 win over West End (0-7, 0-5) last Friday (Oct. 12).

The visiting Patriots (0-7, 0-5) avoided the shutout with a fourth-quarter touchdown run by Hunter Demedicis.

West End continues region play on Friday with a visit to Etowah County neighbor Gaston. 

Hokes Bluff fell to Class 4A, Region 5 opponent Munford last Friday, 33-15, at HBHS. 

The Eagles’ scoring came on Garrett Lawley’s touchdown run and Brad Robertson’s touchdown pass to Jake Ingram. 

Robertson completed 14-of-18 passes for 143 yards, while
Jake Ponder had four receptions for 46 yards. Ingram and Charlie Reed each had
three catches.

Chase Pope led in tackles with nine, followed by Ponder and
Dustin Herman with eight each and Noah Click with seven. 

Hokes Bluff (1-6, 0-5) resumes region play on Friday as the Eagles host Anniston.
