Southside knocks off four ranked teams at Danville Invitational

Southside went undefeated at the Danville Invitational Tournament last Saturday (Sept. 25). The Lady Panthers (32-7, 4-1) defeated Class 3A No. 10 Carbon Hill, 25-19, 25-14; Central-Florence, 25-9, 25-22; Class 4A No. 9 West Morgan, 25-20, 25-23; and Class 3A No. 5 Geraldine, 25-23. 17-25, 15-13 before beating Class 2A No. 2 Addison, 25-21, 25-22 in the championship match. For the tournament for Southside, Kathryn Webb had 123 assists, 22 digs and four aces; Hannah Rogers had 47 digs; Rachael Wilson had 36 kills, six digs and four blocks; Macey Herren had 35 kills, 35 digs and two blocks; Keelan Vice had 34 kills, 15 digs and five blocks; Ziniah Hardy had 27 digs, 25 kills and three blocks; Ella Knowlton (pictured above) had 27 kills, 10 blocks and nine digs; and Rylie Kitchens had 21 digs.
