Just in time for ticket sales to begin on April 15, the headliner for the first night of Gadsden’s annual music festival has been revealed.

Third Eye Blind (3eb) will take the stage at 9 p.m. on June 13. The American alternative rock band was formed in the early 1990s in San Francisco and is best known for its hits “Semi-Charmed Life,” “Jumper,” and “How’s It Going to Be.”

The band’s first album went platinum six times and the second record hit that mark twice.

Last week The Chamber announced that the Jeremy Jackson Band, rained out on the main stage last year, will be performing on June 13 at Riverfest 2014. When weather interfered last year, Jackson’s band performed under shelter in the  Beer Garden.

The entertainment lineup for the first night of Riverfest is:

Riley Green – 5 p.m.

Jeremy Jackson Band

– 6 p.m.

Black Joe Lewis

– 7:30 p.m.

Third Eye Blind – 9 p.m.

Performers scheduled for Saturday, June 14 at Riverfest are:

Justin Chain – 6 p.m.

The LACs – 7:30 p.m.

Wynonna and the Big Noise – 9:30 p.m.

As if the music were not enough, Riverfest also brings vendors of all sorts to Gadsden.

There will be a new and improved kids area and a teens’ Chill Zone, making for a street party that will shut down Albert Rains Boulevard in the Moragne Park area on June 13 and 14.

Tickets go on sale April 15. Weekend passes are available for pre-purchase only.

Adult passes are $35; kids tickets, ages six through 11 are $10 and children five and under get in free.

Single day passes are available at the gate (cash purchase only): $25 for adults and $10 for children six through 11.
