Westbrook Christian High School defeated Coosa Christian High School, 5-1, in girls soccer action on March 13 at Jack Osborn Stadium in Rainbow City.

Ali Collins led the Lady Warriors with three goals, netting two in the first half (24:51, 3:06) to give Westbrook a 2-0 lead at intermission.

Collins found the net quickly in the second half, completing the hat trick at 35:38.

Courtland Barber extended Westbrook’s lead to 4-0 with a goal at 25:56 remaining in the second half.

Rhea Leach scored the Lady Warriors final goal with 25:09 remaining in the match to extend the lead to 5-0.

Autumn East netted Coosa’s lone score with 7:40 remaining in the match.

“It was a good win for us,” Westbrook head coach Richard Dobbs said. “We have played six games this year and have five wins, and that’s not too bad with our schedule.”

Westbrook travels to face Jacksonville High School on March 16.

“We have played them tough this year already,” Dobbs said. “They are a bigger school but we always play them well. Soccer is one of the few team sports that a Class 2A school will play a Class 4A school. If we stay healthy we can compete with bigger schools.”
