Geraldine outscored Westbrook Christian 9-0 in the second half to rally for a 16-13 victory in Class 3A, Region 6 action on October 7 at GHS.
The loss dropped the Warriors to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in the region standings. The Bulldogs improved to 5-2, 4-1.
Trailing 13-7 at halftime, Geraldine drew within four points when a Westbrook punt sailed through the back of the end zone with 3:24 left in the third quarter.
Following the ensuing free kick, Geraldine drove 55 yards in nine plays to score the game-winning touchdown. On the first second of the fourth quarter, quarterback Jaxon Colvin powered his way across the goal line for a 5-yard TD. Moses Garcia’s extra point gave the Bulldogs a 16-13 cushion with 11:44 remaining in the game.
Moses Garcia’s 50-yard punt pinned the Warriors on their 14 with 2:44 left, from where they launched a final threat. Westbrook was penalized for blocking in the back on first down, but the Warriors overcame that after quarterback Mason Coley had completions of 17 and 29 yards, the latter to Greyson Carroll, who gained a first down at the Geraldine 45.
Coley scrambled for 11 yards to the Bulldog 34, and Westbrook was flagged for a holding penalty on the next play. Coley then connected with Daniel Rohlfs for a gain inside the 20, but a penalty for an ineligible receiver downfield wiped out the play.
The above penalties forced the Warriors back to the 50-yard line, where on a fourth-and-26 Coley threw to Hugh Windle for 25 yards, coming up a yard short of a first down with 26.8 seconds left on the clock. Geraldine took over and snapped it once to run out the clock.

Coley was 13 for 19 in passing for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Hugh Windle had six receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown, while Landon Armstrong caught three passes for 20 yards. Drew Whittemore paced the Warrior ground game with14 rushes for 61 yards.

Westbrook hosts Plainview this Friday (Oct. 14) in more region action.
