Westbrook wins Silver Division at Glencoe tournament

The Westbrook Christian volley team went 4-1 to win the Silver Bracket at the Yellow Jacket Invitational last Saturday (Oct. 8). The Class 3A No. 9 Lady Warriors (34-5) opened pool play with a 25-11, 18-25, 13-15 loss to Cedar Bluff, followed by a 25-13, 25-16 victory over Brindlee Mountain and a 17-25, 27-25, 15-8 win over Southside. Westbrook then defeated Brindlee Mountain, 24-14, 25-12 and Cleburne County, 19-25, 25-16, 15-11 in the elimination round.
For the tournament for the Lady Warriors, Brielle Wood had 76 assists, 28 digs, 16 kills and 13 aces; Raylee Neal (pictured above) had 56 digs, 11 assists and two aces; Raegan Harrell had 39 kills, nine digs and eight aces; Marley Cox had 33 digs, 10 kills, three aces and two blocks; Henley Beddingfield had 44 digs and three aces; Ellison Stewart had 20 kills, eight digs and two blocks; Landri Lipscomb had 12 kills, seven digs, four blocks and three aces and Kylee Wyatt had 30 digs and two aces.
