Panthers win; Titans, Warriors fall short

Southside High won its third game in a row with a 24-9 triumph over St. Clair County on Friday (Sept. 25) in Odenville.

Baylon Fry and Kevon Carlisle both rushed for a touchdown for the Panthers (4-2, 2-0), while Alaric Williams caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Triston Shaw.

Kristian Wilmore kicked a 38-yard field goal.

Southside amassed 332 yards of total offense while limiting the Saints to 137.

For the Panthers, Fry rushed nine times for 122 yards, while Alaric Williams gained 97 yards on 13 carries.

Carlisle added 75 yards on seven attempts. 

Southside resumes its Class 6A, region 7 schedule this Friday (Oct. 2) at home against Albertville.

A late missed field goal sent Gadsden City to a 38-35 loss to Goose Creek on Friday (Sept. 25) in South Carolina.

With just over a minute remaining, the Titans (3-3, 2-1) drove to the Gator 21 before missing on the potential game-winning kick with seven seconds left.

Ahmad DeRamus threw a pair of touchdown passes, one to Jalen Swain and another to Denzel Mooney. Mooney also caught a TD pass from Damon Williams.

Rodney Bozeman ran for another touchdown.

Gadsden City hosts Class 7A, Region 4 rival Huntsville this Friday (Oct. 2).

Westbrook Chriatian fell to Randolph County, 42-0, on Friday in Wedowee. The Warriors (2-3, 2-1) return to Class 2A, Region 7 action this Friday (Oct. 2) at Walter Wellborn.
