Chick-fil-A, located on 4th Street in Gadsden, will host a Fall Festival on Monday, October 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the lot behind Chick-fil-A.

Last year, 300 people attended the event.

This year there are many activities for children. The Sand Mountain Corn Maze is bringing a cow train ride. There will also be inflatables. Etowah County Young Farmers will bring a baby calf and horse. A camel and horse will be available for rides. Magician Archie Wade will perform a show titled Strolling Magic. There will be face-painting. There will even be a pumpkin patch and pumpkin painting.

A church drama team is scheduled to perform. Surrendered, a gospel group and ministry out of Gadsden, will also perform. The group features Russell Wise, John “Bit” Fugatt and Sadie Renee. All three have experience singing in family groups. To learn more about the group visit the band’s website at www.surrendered.biz or find the band on Facebook at www.facebook.com/surrendered4u. The band also has a Youtube channel titled Surrendered Gospel.

The Gadsden Police Department’s Special Projects Team, the Horton Bend Fire Department and the Gadsden Fire Department will also attend.

Team One is sponsoring Trunk or Treats as well.

To help with the Trunk or Treat, Chick-fil-A is holding a candy drive. To participate, bring bags of  one pound or more individually wrapped candy to the Chick-fil-A on 4th Street and receive a free Chick-fil-A sandwich.

Several businesses are donating candy or participating in the Trunk or Treat.

Volunteers from the Girl Scouts, Your Unique, Pathways and BigBrothers/Big Sisters are helping with the event.

Chick-fil-A has held some sort of event for the community for almost ten years. The restaurant used to hold a back to school event, but changed it to the Fall Festival.

“We do it as an effort to give back to the community,” said Stacy Roach, one of the event’s organizers.
