The Attalla Waffle House held a 1980s-themed celebration on Friday, May 27 to honor the hard work of the Unit Manager Deborah McGraw, who has been employed with Waffle House for 30 years. McGraw has always worked in the Gadsden and Attalla area. She became an Attalla resident 11 years ago.
McGraw was raised in Walnut Grove and attended West End High School. She has been married to husband Reese Watts since 2008. She is a mother to four children: Amanda, Matt, Austin and Hillary. She is a grandmother of seven.
The celebration was 80s-themed to honor the years that McGraw began to work with the company and featured 80s costumes and music. Waffle House presented her with a pin and watch for her 30 years of service.
At the celebration, Attalla Mayor Larry Means presented McGraw with a proclamation that proclaimed May 27 as Deborah McGraw Day.
“Deborah McGraw deserves recognition for the fine work she has performed during her career at Waffle House,” said Means during the proclamation.
Waffle House takes great pride in the abilities of their managers and promotes from within the company. According to its website, Waffle House “managers build ties with the people they serve, supporting local schools, organizations and charities with spirit nights, fundraisers and other events.”
