Salvation Army kicks off virtual kettle campaign

As the local community counts down the final days to the Christmas holiday, The Salvation Army asks residents to help make a difference by contributing to the organization’s Virtual Red Kettle campaign. With the goal of meeting growing needs and spreading holiday cheer to families and individuals facing hardships, the virtual red kettle offers a convenient way for everyone to support life-changing programs and services.

“This holiday season, the need is greater than ever,” said Major James Edmonds, local commanding officer of The Salvation Army. “Many in our community continue to face significant challenges, and our work is only possible because of the generosity of people who care. The Virtual Red Kettle allows everyone to get involved, whether near or far, in making a meaningful impact.”

Donors can visit the Salvation Army’s online platform to make secure contributions from the comfort of their homes. Every dollar donated through the Virtual Red Kettle stays within the local community, helping to provide essentials like food, clothing, shelter and Christmas gifts for those in need.

“With this digital option, even if you don’t see a kettle on the street corner or at your local store, you can still support our mission to do the most good,” said Edmonds. “We’re asking everyone to spread the word, set up their own virtual kettles and rally friends and family to join this season of giving.”

The Salvation Army’s services extend far beyond the holidays, helping vulnerable populations year-round. Contributions to the Virtual Red Kettle will ensure that The Salvation Army can continue to serve those in need, helping to build a stronger and safer community.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support of our community,” said Edmonds. “Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to bringing hope and joy to families who need it most.”
