On Saturday, April 18 there will be a traditional low country boil, Crawfish With Culture, presented by the Hardin Center for Cultural Arts and Capeside Fish Company. Guests will enjoy fresh Louisiana crawfish, gulf shrimp, potatoes, corn, and sausage.
In addition to the meal there will be live music and entertainment provided by Chris Bellamy. Bellamy is from Wilmington, NC, and has opened for Jimmy Buffett, Waylon Jennings, Willy Nelson and Emmylou Harris. He performs most of the summer in and around Wilmington, NC, and Myrtle Beach, SC. “Dennis Deason, owner of Capeside, has wanted to do an event like this for some time. He’s been a long-time supporter of the Center and we were excited when he approached us with the idea for this event”, said Bobby Welch, executive director. “He knows Bellamy from his years in radio and we think this will be a great time for all who attend. We hope to make it an annual event.”
The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. and will be outdoors in the space behind Capeside Fish Company. Guests can bring lawn chairs and coolers with beverages of their choice and enjoy great food and music. The tickets are $25.00 and proceeds from the event will go to support the arts at the Hardin Center.
