Three local players were nominated for the Alabama High School Athletic Association Prep Spotlight for the week of Oct. 28.
Sardis sophomore running back Drew Vaughn rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries and caught a TD pass in the Lions’ 48-7 win over Boaz.
Hokes Bluff senior running back Fisher Simmons returned a punt 53 yards for a touchdown and covered a fumbled punt that led to another score as the Eagles defeated Westbrook Christian 55-20.

West End senior receiver Andre Little caught nine passes for 145 yards and returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown in the Patriots’ 35-28 loss to Ashville.
