Commission honors Westbrook student golfer

The Etowah County Commission recognized young golfer Harrison Ray Martin for a number of golfing achievements, including his first place finish in the Gadsden Country Club Junior Championship in 2013 and 2012, his first place finish in 2013 and second place finish in 2012 in the Etowah County Championship and his first place finish in the Dixie PGA Junior Championship Qualifier in 2013.

Harrison, a sophomore at Westbrook Christian Academy, has other accomplishments: Top 50 Future Masters, 2013; Final Round Qualifier, 2012; second place B Flight, Gadsden City Championship; Top 8 SJGT Vestavia Invitational; Top 5 SJGT Ol’ Colony, Tuscaloosa; fourth place Gadsden Country Club Men’s Championship, 2013, second place in 2012; and seventh place Bud Burns Invitational.

In addition to his first place finishes as an individual, his team placed first in Sectionals and achieved a third place finish in both the Sub-State and State finals.

Harrison is the son of Catherine and Jeff Martin, and the brother of Emma Catherine Martin.
