“We would never quit on a season,” said Coosa Christian co-interim coach Taylor Johnstone. “The scoreboard may not show it but on the field, we’re still improving. When eight guys are doing the right thing and three aren’t, it’s tough to win.”

There was  optimism in Johnstone’s voice, despite the Conquerors’ record.

“Who says we can’t go on a big run? We won the one game and even then, we weren’t playing as well as we can.”

Last week against Decatur Heritage, Johnny Grizzard threw for 86 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 54 yards on eight carries.

Wesley Grizzard caught five passes for 47 yards and a score.

Johnny Grizzard had 10 tackles, followed by Wesley Grizzard with seven.
