Two Etowah County attractions were featured in the Christmas specials of Absolutely Alabama with Fred Hunter on Fox 6.

In the first Christmas special hosted out of Dothan’s Landmark Park, there was a story about Don Turner of Allis Chalmers Tractors in Hokes Bluff. Turner makes Allis Chalmers pedal tractors. Although it sounds like a fun toy, these specialty tractors have a price tag that makes them a little high end for child’s play. Although Allis Chalmers are a collectors specialty he provides, he works with all kinds of tractors, including Fords and Jeeps. He has even made a solar-powered tractor for his wife.

The second Christmas special was hosted out of Gadsden’s own Noccalula Falls, at the annual Christmas at the Falls event.  The annual event was open seven nights a week from November 29 through December 22nd. Christmas at the Falls has become a local tradition. The main attraction of Christmas at the Falls is the wonderland of lights and color. Nightly features included train rides, a petting zoo, a post office to mail letters to Santa and concessions. This year, the lights have remained up longer than usual. For more information, call the Noccalula Falls Park office at 256-549-4663.
