Lady Panthers shut out Huffman in soccer playoffs


The Southside High girls defeated Huffman, 10-0, in the first round of the Class 6A state soccer playoffs on Monday (Apr. 27) at SHS. 

Kelsey Patterson led the Lady Panthers (15-5) with six goals, followed by Lauren Brewer with three and Mary Katherine Maudsley and Megan Hendrick with one each. Maudsley, Madison Bolton, Carly Noah and Allison Riihimaa each had an assist. 

Southside hosts Gardendale on Tuesday (April 28) for a second round game.
