Whereas, default having been made in the payment of the indebtedness secured by that certain mortgage executed by Brad Scott Wilson and wife, Sylenia Belle Wilson, to River Bank & Trust on the 12th day of July, 2016, said mortgage being recorded at Instrument #:  3436841,  in the office of the Judge of Probate of Etowah County, Alabama, and the undersigned, by reason of such default, having declared the entire remaining indebtedness secured by said mortgage to be immediately due and payable, and said mortgage subject to foreclosure, and such default continuing, notice is hereby given, that acting under the power of sale contained in said mortgage, the undersigned, Dana L. West Etowah Water Authority will be taking sealed bids on a 555 Ford Backhoe

and a 1991 Econoline backhoe trailer. The bids can be turned in to West Etowah County water office at 596 Gallant Road Attalla, Al. 35954. A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT

STATE OF ALABAMA, COUNTY OF ETOWAH

NOTICE is hereby given that a bill substantially as follows will be introduced in the 2024 Regular Session of the Legislature of Alabama and application for its passage and enactment will be made:

Relating to Etowah County; to further provide for service of process; and to provide for the collection and dispensation of fees associated with service of process.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:

Section 1.

(a) The Sheriff of Etowah County may contract with a private, public, or governmental entity for the purpose of service of process for any document other than a warrant for arrest.

(b) In addition to all existing charges, fees, judgments, and costs of court, the clerk, sheriff, or other appropriate court official in district and circuit courts of Etowah County shall collect a service of process fee of thirty-five dollars ($35) per document which shall be paid into the Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Fund.

(c) The Sheriff of Etowah County may use the monies generated by this section at his or her discretion for any lawful purpose.

(d) The monies generated by this section shall not diminish or take the place of any other source of income for the sheriff.

Section 2.

This act shall become effective December 1, 2024, contingent upon the ratification of the amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of 2022, authorizing the Legislature to fix and regulate court costs in Etowah County by general or local law, and ratifying all previously collected court costs in Etowah County, as proposed in SB____ of the 2024 Regular Session.

The Gadsden-Etowah Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Transportation Department of the City of Gadsden announce a Public Meeting for public review of one planning document and one public information document for the GEMPO area:  1) The FY2024 Public Participation Plan 2) Transit Service and Fare Change Retrospective 2019-2024.

The contractor will be required to perform work amounting to at least 30% of the total contract cost with its own organization.

This is a Federally Funded Project. The proposed work shall be performed in conformity with the rules and regulations for carrying out the Federal Highway Act and other acts amendatory, supplementary, or relative thereto. The project is subject to the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act and its implementing regulations. MBE/DBE participation is encouraged; however, no specific MBE/DBE goals have been established for this project.

Minimum wage rates (Davis Bacon Act) for this project have been pre-determined by the Secretary of Labor and are set forth in the advertised specifications.

In accordance with TITLE 49, Code of Federal Regulations, all bidders are hereby notified that it will be affirmatively ensured that in the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex or national origin in consideration for an award.
