Amending Fiscal Year 2023 Budget

Authorizing TIF Funds for Expenditures

Related to Whataburger

Whereas, MWB Restaurants, LLC is developing a Whataburger restaurant located at 563 East Meighan Boulevard, Gadsden, Alabama 35903; and

Whereas, the Whataburger site is within the Tax Increment Financial District 1; and

Whereas, TIF funds are needed for property clearance and developmental site-work; and

Whereas, the City Council finds and determines that the use of tax increment district funds for the property clearance and developmental site work is in keeping with the purpose and intent of the tax increment financing law and the project plans previously authorized and adopted.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GADSDEN, ALABAMA, as follows:

Section 1. Ordinance No. O-35-22 (Fiscal Year 2023 Budget), as amended, is further amended, by appropriating $125,000.00 to account #191-2500-419.76-42 (Whataburger Land Prep).
