The City of Gadsden proposes to amend its 2020 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Action Plan and budget to reallocate unexpended prior years funds in the amount of $600,000 to be reallocated for street improvements as follows:

2015 – Reallocate $52,059.17 from administration and $48,171.11 from housing assistance to 2020street improvements.   Total transfer from 2015 CDBG funds:  $100,230.28

2016 – Reallocate $20,515.61 from administration to 2020 street improvements.  Total transfer from 2016 CDBG funds:  $20,515.61

2017 –   Reallocate $79,512.48 administration, $616.31 housing assistance, $1,987.50 Section 108 loan, $147,415.56 street improvements to 2020 street improvements.  Total transfer from 2017 CDBG funds: $229,531.85

2018 – Reallocate $57,369.34 administration, $91,32.50 public services to 2020 street improvements. Total transfer from 2018 CDBG funds: $66,501.84.

2019 – Reallocate $13,934.45 administration, $55,240.83 housing assistance, $114,045.14 street improvements to 2020 street improvements.  Total transfer from 2019 CDBG funds: $183,220.42.

The original 2020 CDBG street improvements allocation was $500,000 for street improvements in various low-moderate income areas within the City of Gadsden.  The proposed amendment will increase the 2020 CDBG street improvement allocation to $1,100,000.

A public hearing will be held on September 27, 2021 at 4:00 pm. in the City Council Chambers of Gadsden City Hall to allow citizens an opportunity to comment on the proposed amendment to the 2020 CDBG Action Plan and budget.
