There is a new business in town. Dee’s Dollar Plus opened its doors on December 15.

William Mitchell, the owner, and his family have live in Ohatchee, but they like Attalla.

“They’re real good people here in Attalla,” said Mitchell.

Mitchell said that he always dreamed of opening a little store. When the chance arose, he decided a dollar store would be a successful store. He named it after his wife, Dee, and the store became Dee’s Dollar Plus.

The small store sells a little bit of everything. The store sells celebration supplies, like decorations, bags and favors. Most items are around a dollar. Although the store can’t keep all prices at a dollar, it offers nicer items than most discount stores, giving customers a better buy for the money they spend. They also have cleaning supplies, kitchen supplies, cosmetic supplies and hygiene items.

The store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 6 p.m. For more information, call 256-538-7819.
