Identical records and two teams fighting for a playoff berth make this game quite interesting.

“On paper, we’re evenly matched,” Westbrook coach Tony Osborne said. “It should come down to who makes the plays that are presented and to who limits their turnovers.”

The loser of this game won’t be out of the postseason race but will have a much tougher row to hoe. The two teams are tied for the fourth and final playoff spot in Class 2A, Region 7.

“I hope we can leave no doubt,” Osborne said. “We really need this win if we want to get in (the playoffs).”

Warrior running back/cornerback Jake Christenberry should be back, giving the Warriors “a big boost,” said Osborne. Christenberry suffered a bad ankle sprain and went back to the doctor Thursday for a prognosis.

“It’s looking good, from our point of view,” Osborne said.

Last week against Wellborn, Joseph Shauer completed eight passes for 81 yards and ran for 27 yards and a touchdown.
