The Wildcats (2-0, 1-0) built a 35-0 halftime lead and led 42-0 through three quarters.

Gaston (0-2, 0-1) scored its lone touchdown on a 9-yard pass by freshman quarterback Jordan Douglas to senior receiver Destin Pollard with 8:37 to go in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore running back Mitchell Smith led the Bulldog rushers with 40 yards on 10 attempts.

Gaston hosts Section next week in another region contest.
