Theatre of Gadsden is back.

After entertainment venues were closed for public safety during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in the area, TOG is ready to entertain its patrons and invite people to enjoy the local arts scene again with a full weekend of fun, food, entertainment and fundraising.

TOG also looks for the weekend to boost its ability to provide another full season for patrons.

“Many arts organizations have been without income for more than a year,” director Mike Beecham said. “That’s one of the reasons that this weekend is so very important to reestablish us as a thriving arts organization.”

The first opportunity on docket is one you won’t want to miss, featuring someone who might spark nostalgia.

LuLu Roman from the 1969-71 musical TV variety show HeeHaw will star in “A Tribute to Patsy Cline,” a dinner theatre show plus a live auction.

The show features songs from Cline and the Jordanaires, and the opening act is Centre native Chad Steed to kick off the evening.

Varied raffle and auction prizes include designer handbags, vacations, jewelry, gift baskets and more.

The show is two nights only, at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 25-26, at Gadsden Country Club.

It’s not too late to get your tickets for the buffet-style dinner and a night of entertainment. Some of the men of TOG will serve as your waiters and hosts for the evening.

Single tickets (including dinner) are $50, two tickets are $80, a table of eight (preferred seating) is $300, and a VIP table of eight (VIP seating/dedicated waiter/VIP packet) is $500.

Patrons should make plans to stay for Sunday’s soiree, too.

At 2:30 p.m. Sunday, also at Gadsden Country Club, BLINGO comes to the ballroom.

BLINGO is for ladies only (not this time, guys) and is an afternoon of playing bingo to win bling!

The event features plenty of bingo, heavy hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and special prizes, including designer purses, beach and picnic gift bundles, Vera Bradley Items, luggage, and more.

Blingo tickets are $40 each, which include your initial game cards and appetizers. Additional game cards will be available for purchase, and a cash bar will be available.

Tickets for any of these weekend fundraising events may be purchased at www.theatreofgadsden.org or by calling (256) 547-SHOW (7469).
