Willie’s Woods ‘Giving Back’ show slated Aug. 10

Eliminator is the headliner for this year’s ‘Giving Back’ concert.

The annual “Giving Back” Concert at Willie’s Woods is slated for Aug. 10 this year, and it will bring Eliminator, a ZZ Top tribute band, to Rainbow City, along with a full slate of entertainers.

The concert will benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Willie’s Woods owner Bob Collins has staged this annual benefit concert for the past four years.

For the 5th annual show, he will bring back some of the “tribute friends” for an end of summer celebration with music, food and fun for the entire family. There will be a kids’ zone with face painting and jumping rooms.

Gates will open at 3 p.m. with music starting at 4 p.m. and continuing until 11 p.m.

Admission is $10. Children 12 and under are free with a paid adult.

The 2013 lineup includes Kevin Moore, providing music for the opening ceremony, and the Boy Scout Troop 777 raising the flag.

Kate Falcon will open the show this year, and the rest of the performers, in no particular order, will be: Hat Creek Cowboys Wild West Show; It’s All Relative Band, performing tunes from the 1970s and ‘80s; Terry Padgett as “Elvis;” Steve Campbell as “Roy Orbison;” Bob Collins as “Willie Nelson;” and Evan Mitchell as “Rascal Flatts.” The headliner will be Eliminator, the ZZ Top tribute band from Kansas City. Willie’s Woods is located at 199 Friendship Road in Rainbow City. For more information, visit the web site www.willieswoods.com.
