Falcon to perform at Gadsden State Cherokee

Gadsden State Cherokee is set to host the second “Lyrics on the Lawn” concert on June 27 in the front parking area of the campus. The community is invited to bring lawn chairs and coolers, but no alcoholic beverages will be allowed. There is no admission and the venue opens at 6 p.m. with the concert slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. The second concert in the series will feature Southside native Kate Falcon.

Falcon has generated quite a buzz over the last year performing at various events in Gadsden and throughout the state. She is one of the 2012 Grand Prize winners for the Alabama Talent Hunt vocal competition in both the Christian and country genres. Falcon has been singing since the age of three and at 11 years old she performed as the opening act for country singer Travis Tritt. Her most notable performance came in 2012 when she was able to sing an impromptu duet with her idol and country superstar Martina McBride at the Ryman Auditorium. Falcon sings anything from her favorite contemporary country songs to some of the best classics. She will soon release her first three singles which were recorded at Grammy award-winning studio, Eclectic Studios, in Nashville.

Future dates of performances are scheduled for July 25 and Aug. 29, with musical acts to be announced later.
