The city of Glencoe will host its 12th annual Celebration in the Park honoring veterans and first responders on Saturday, May 9.

Glencoe city clerk Tasha Blackerby said the celebration usually recognizes veterans in honor of close-by Memorial Day, but added, “This one’s a little different. We’re honoring fire, police; all our first responders.”

The celebration kicks off at 10 a.m. at Glencoe City Park and includes live entertainment, concessions, shopping vendors and car and antique tractor shows. Kid’s activities will include arts and crafts, pony rides, a petting zoo complete with live camels and a dog and pig show by Skin and Bones.

Live music will include:

South Ridge at 10:30 a.m.

Albert Simpson at 12:00 p.m.

Kelli Johnson at 2:00 p.m.

Admission is free.

“Everyone’s welcome to attend,” added Blackerby.
